Fairmont Prep Earns More Bids to Tournament of Champions

This past weekend, your Fairmont Prep debate team competed at the 32nd Annual MinneApple Debate Tournament in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Ten of our Fairmont Prep debaters traveled to this octo-final bid tournament. An octo-final bid tournament awards Tournament of Champions (ToC) bids to the top 16 teams. Traditionally, tournaments that distribute bids to teams that advance to octo-finals boast the stiffest competition in the country and MinneApple did not disappoint. Some of the best teams in the country were in attendance, including Fairmont Prep.

The team of Gurveer Singh and Adnan Ismail advanced to double-octafinals before elimination, securing themselves a bid to the Silver division of the ToC. In an impressive feat, sophomores and first-time partners Alexander Kim and Numair Razzak advanced to the octo-final round. For their accomplishment, the pair were awarded a bid to the Gold division of the ToC. This was Numair and Alex’s first bids ever and the fourth gold bid of the year for Fairmont Prep.
