Fairmont Prep senior Esther Park was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal by California Congressman Ed Royce of the 39th District. The highest honor Congress can impart upon young Americans, the Congressional Award involves the completion of at least one hundred hours in the four program areas of Volunteer Public Service, Personal Development, Physical Fitness, and Expedition/Exploration. Earning the highest medal of the Congressional Award, Esther completed over 400 hours of volunteer service, 200 hours of personal development, and 200 hours of physical fitness. She also completed an expedition while in Mexico during her sophomore year of high school.

Esther has been with Fairmont since her freshman year, and is currently Co-ASB President, President of the Red Cross Club, and a Student Ambassador. She is also part of the International Business Program offered at Fairmont Prep.
