In concert with helping student-athletes manage rigorous academic coursework, Fairmont Preparatory Academy’s community service program provides these active students opportunities to foster social responsibility and compassion to serve others. Community service also nurtures leadership qualities and increases chances of entering the universities of students’ choices. It’s another side to the well-rounded education provided at Fairmont Prep.

Community service encourages them to step out of their comfort zones and experience the satisfaction of working alongside students from diverse backgrounds to achieve a common goal. Participating with students of various interests reinforces understanding that student-athletes are members of the greater campus community and contribute more to school spirit than simply scoring points in a game. This display of campus unity is evident in that, during the 2014–2015 school year, Fairmont Prep seniors collectively devoted a total of more than 15,000 hours to volunteer work in numerous nonprofits throughout Orange County. When volunteering with their team or as individuals, they enjoy the personal fulfillment of instigating positive change in society.

Thanks to the collaborative efforts of coaches, staff members, teachers, and counselors, Fairmont Prep student-athletes enjoy a well-rounded educational experience.
