Next year marks the 50th anniversary of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). In recognition of this milestone, the IBO is launching a worldwide birthday celebration this fall. Fairmont Preparatory Academy has been an IB World School since 1995 and is one of the few high schools in Orange County to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.

Fairmont Prep students who are part of the two-year IB Diploma Programme sharpen their critical-thinking skills while exploring topics in depth. Through the unique Theory of Knowledge class, students also develop an understanding of how knowledge is acquired and used.

Colleges and universities around the world recognize IB curriculum as among the most rigorous students can pursue. As an IB diploma candidate, a Fairmont Prep student distinguishes himself or herself as an exceptional college and university applicant, which leads to increased scholarship and academic credit.

When Fairmont President and CEO David Jackson established Fairmont Prep, his goal was to offer students the best option for a global education. Upon founding the school, he recognized the IBO as being at the forefront of international mindedness and global awareness. Fairmont Prep is proud of its long association with the International Baccalaureate Organization.
